Ready, Willing and Able achieves nationally recognised BASE accreditation
We're happy to announce that our supported employment programme, Ready, Willing and Able, has achieved Supported Employment Quality Framework accreditation from the British Association of Supported Employment!
This nationally recognised accreditation recognises Ready, Willing and Able as a high-quality, evidence-based supported employment programme, delivered through the Five Stage Supported Employment Model.
Since its inception in 2021, our programme has supported people into more than 70 jobs, with many securing paid employment for the first time and going on to build lasting careers.
One such story which illustrates this impact is from Mikey, who, through Ready, Willing and Able’s support, has grown significantly in confidence. After initially finding it difficult to attend meetings independently or make eye contact with his supported employment coach, he now travels across the country independently for work.
Behind this accreditation are the people whose lives have been changed through supported employment. It reflects the dedication and expertise of our Ready, Willing and Able team in delivering high-quality, person-centred support that enables people to find, sustain and progress in paid work.
For people seeking work, their families, employers we work alongside, commissioners and partners, it provides confidence that our programme follows nationally recognised best practice and is committed to continuous improvement.
Rhian Airey, Ready, Willing and Able’s Supported Employment Manager, commented:
"Achieving SEQF accreditation is a proud moment for our team. After months of preparation and a comprehensive two-day external assessment, it is fantastic to have the quality of our work recognised by BASE. This accreditation reflects the dedication of our team and the trust placed in us by the people we support and our employer partners. We continue to improve our work and practice for the people we support."
This accreditation comes at a time when quality assurance is becoming increasingly important across the supported employment sector. Programmes such as the UK Government’s ‘Connect to Work’ initiative require providers to either hold accreditation or be actively working towards it, making SEQF an increasingly important benchmark of quality and best practice.
This is a significant milestone for Ready, Willing and Able, and reflects the passion, dedication and expertise of our team of Supported Employment Coaches. As the programme continues to grow, our new accreditation will help to strengthen relationships with employers and partners, and enable us to support more people than ever before.
Ready, Willing and Able currently supports people with disabilities to secure paid employment across London, Bristol and Oxfordshire.
We’ve partnered with a number of businesses over the years to develop inclusive routes into employment for the talented people we support. If you are an employer interested in partnering with us, we’d love to hear from you.
