This policy statement explains the changes we believe are needed to make opportunities and employment more accessible and inclusive for disabled people, particularly people with learning disabilities and autistic people. For the past few years SeeAbility has been working to support disabled people into employment under our Ready Willing and Able programme. 

This policy statement has been shaped by these experiences and also from people we support in their own homes, our colleagues who have disabilities and our Listen Up! team. It has useful facts and figures on the employment situation for people with learning disabilities and autistic people in 2025, current programmes to support disabled people into employment and makes proposals on what reforms are needed to improve the situation.
