The Gift of Movement Appeal - The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2023

Many people take for granted the ability to move freely. This season, we are asking you to give the gift of movement through our Big Give appeal.

SeeAbility’s Heather House provides world-leading support for young people with life-limiting, rare, neurodegenerative conditions.

Children with these conditions are often born apparently healthy, but tragically lose their sight, speech and eventually the ability to walk or move independently. Most do not live past their mid-20s.

Exercise and movement is crucial and helps these young people stay healthy for longer.

That’s why we’re so excited about the Innowalk Pro - a robotic rehabilitation trainer that will support people like Lizzie (pictured above and below during a trial of the Innowalk Pro) to take more control of their body, movement and health.

During a recent trial, Lizzie and other young people we support at Heather House were able to use the device to experience moving in an upright position and feel the sensation of walking.

The Innowalk Pro can improve people’s range of movement, reduce tight muscles, improve digestion and even help people to breathe more easily.

This is why we really want to fund the Innowalk Pro. It would have a life-changing impact both physically and mentally, helping the young people we support at Heather House to maintain their mobility for as long as possible in a safe and comfortable way.

"It's about getting more out of life, while we can."

SeeAbility is asking for your help to raise £40,000 to buy an Innowalk Pro.

This Christmas, we've partnered with Candis Club and some of our major supporters, so from midday 28th November until midday 5th December all donations given to SeeAbility on the Big Give website will be doubled for free!

Please consider giving the gift of movement. Thank you.
