Eye Care Champion - North West
What is your role?
I’m a northwest eye care champion. I started working as an eye care champion in May 2019. I talk about eye care to people with learning disabilities and people who work with people with learning disabilities. I make them eye care aware. It is very important.
What inspires you?
I feel inspired in my role because I really want to make a big difference to people’s eye sight.
What's your favourite thing to do outside work?
I love to go out for meals and I love to go walking and I love to go camping. I like being in the tent.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
To look after your eyes and get them checked at least every two years. But if you are diabetic you need to go every year.
What’s one thing about you that people would be surprised to learn?
I like to eat Chinese takeaway. I love music like Dire Straits, Jason Donovan, Take That, and Paul Simon.

How Rebecca is making her ‘Steps Count’
When Eye Care Champion Rebecca Lunness witnessed Captain Sir Thomas Moore complete 100 laps of his garden to raise an overwhelming amount of money for the NHS, she felt encouraged to get involved with the growing movement he had started.
