Greg in the Amex stadium

Seeing the Seagulls - How Brighton & Hove Albion went the extra mile for Greg

Greg is an avid football fan. He’s a passionate supporter of Brighton and Hove Albion and gets down to the AMEX Stadium regularly with his season ticket.

Last season, he found he was struggling to see the match properly because of his visual impairment, so his support team got in touch with Brighton to see if they could help.

Millie, a Disability Liaison Officer at the club, invited Greg to the stadium to pick out a seat from which he could see the game more clearly.

"Being able to support supporters with extra requirements is something we are always happy to assist with. Greg was unable to sit in his usual seat due to personal medical reasons. Therefore, we took the time to understand Greg’s requirements and invited him into the stadium to talk through available options.

Greg at a Brighton game"We found a suitable seat which he was happy with, and we also informed Greg about the Audio Commentary that we provide for each Premier League home game. He wasn’t aware of this, so will be using this service when he attends matches. He will now be sitting front row, with Audio Descriptive Commentary to enjoy the atmosphere even more."

Greg is delighted with his new, front row seat and the audio commentary feature that should really improve his experience.

"I was really happy with how Brighton and Hove Albion went the extra mile to make sure I was getting the best experience. I'm really looking forward to the season ahead from my new seat with the audio commentary!"

It’s great to see more organisations championing accessibility and working hard to understand the diverse requirements of their supporters. Thank you Brighton and Hove Albion!
