Adult social care continues to face lots of challenges. For many years we have been calling on the government to make changes to social care in England.

This policy statement explains the changes we believe are needed. It’s been shaped by our Listen Up! team, who all have experience of social care, and includes useful facts and figures on the situation in 2025, following announcements from the new Labour government.

It calls for a change in the way society views social care, so it is as seen as something that supports people to have good lives. It also calls for urgent funding to help address low pay in social care.
