Our support at Spencer Court
We're excited to share more information about Spencer Court, one of our fully accessible supported living homes in Leatherhead. Nestled between Leatherhead's town centre and the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Spencer Court brings the best of both town and country living.
Spencer Court has an illustrious history, having been opened by Princess Diana in the 1980s. Since then, each flat have been comprehensively refurbished, featuring a modern look and finish.
Accommodation
Spencer Court is a supported living house which has been designed to be fully accessible, creating a comfortable and welcoming home where people can live as independently as possible.
The house was built with community in mind, featuring large communal areas and access to a garden, which provides a peaceful and welcoming space to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
The bathrooms in particular are designed with accessibility in mind, with walk-in showers and safety handrails on the bathtubs.
Located only a short drive away from Leatherhead's town centre, people living at Spencer Court can enjoy easy access to local shops, cafés and restaurants, while nature lovers can explore the beautiful surrey countryside and its many walking routes.
Our support
Our support at Spencer Court is designed to be highly person-centred. We take time to get to know everyone, enabling us to work alongside them to build ambitious lives. We provide tailored support to meet each person's needs, goals and aspirations, supporting them to develop new skills, gain confidence and build the life they choose.
Finding community
People living in Spencer Court make close friends, both among their neighbours and in the local area.
We have a thriving volunteer programme with many long-term volunteers - some of whom have been involved for over two decades! Our famous volunteer-run Tandem Club pairs sighted volunteers with visually impaired people so they can experience the joy of cycling. It is just one of the many clubs that people at Spencer Court have established.
There is also plenty to do in the local area. From Spencer Court, people have easy access to local leisure centres, world-famous walking and hiking trails, and the accessible SeeAbility minibus, which can take people further afield.
For those looking to explore the capital, direct trains to London are available from the nearby town centre.
Ready, Willing and Able

People supported by SeeAbility also have access to our supported employment programme Ready, Willing and Able. This programme supports people with confidence training and mentoring via a supported employment coach, who will also support them in their search to find meaningful employment.
Listen Up!
SeeAbility’s Listen Up programme supports people with disabilities to speak up and campaign about the issues that matter to them. It is an exciting programme that works with people to build confidence and make a difference in society.
