I volunteer with the Friday tandum club.

What is your work history?

Owner and chairman of an engineer business employing about 30 people on two sites, one factory in Dorking and one in Horsham.

What inspires you?

To help others. As I take a back step in my business, I was looking for ways to fill my time with rewarding activities.

What's your favourite thing to do outside work?

Cycling, skiing, cars, gardening, going on holiday and drinking wine.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Keep peddling at the back of the bike!
