Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
At SeeAbility, we understand that behaviour is a form of communication. When someone shows behaviour that challenges, it often means their needs aren’t being met in the right way.
Our behaviour support team works with each person, their family and support team to find out what that behaviour is really saying. We carry out a full assessment and create a support plan that’s built around the person’s goals and strengths.
We often make small changes to the environment or how support is given. This can lead to big improvements in someone’s confidence, independence and quality of life.
We also train each support team to respond in calm, consistent and respectful ways. We use proactive approaches to reduce conflict and build trust.
Sometimes, physical interventions are needed to keep someone safe. These are only used when there is no other option and always agreed with the person, their family and professionals. We use the PROACT-SCIPr-UK® approach because it puts understanding and skill-building first.

Ed's story
Support from SeeAbility has been life-changing not just for Ed, but for his whole family. We spoke to Ed’s mum Sharon about the changes she has seen in her son since he moved to Bicester – and how SeeAbility always goes the extra mile for the people we support.
