Our Great Expectations strategy

Supporting people to live, love, thrive and belong
Supporting people in the best way we can is what we are all about at SeeAbility. But in order to ensure people we support live great lives, we need to instil great expectations.
Many people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss spend much of their lives being told 'no'. They are told things just aren't possible, without a second thought. But we don't believe in giving up on other people's dreams.
We want everyone we support to be ambitious about their lives - to fulfil all their wildest ambitions, or at least give them a fair shot!
Our Great Expectations strategy reflects this. We all know lots of things come together to make up our lives, so the strategy examines a person’s life through eight areas called quality of life areas, which include all the big things like relationships, communities and health. We discuss these domains with people we’re supporting and their families, finding creative ways for each person to communicate their ambitions.
This is about being proactive. We want to ask the questions that people have never been asked before.
