Our commitment to quality

At SeeAbility we define quality as being how the people we support experience the interactions and engagement provided by our teams — it’s about feeling heard, having choice and control, getting answers to questions, having problems fixed, and feeling connected to the world around you.

The people we support have told us what is important to them, and we have turned these into statements to help us to understand how well we are living up to their expectations.

Statement of commitment

SeeAbility is committed to providing high quality services for people with learning disabilities and we are proud to be signed up to the Driving Up Quality Code.

The Driving Up Quality Code is a voluntary code of conduct created by the Driving Up Quality Alliance in response to the abuse that occurred at Winterbourne View.

The Code aims to:

  • Ensure that the quality of services provided goes beyond minimum standards.
  • Create and build a passion for values-led services.
  • Promote a transparent culture.
  • Send out a clear message of what is and is not acceptable.
  • Celebrate and share the fantastic work that we know is going on.

Signing up to the Driving Up Quality Code complements SeeAbility’s dedication to achieving the highest standards of care and best possible outcomes for the individuals that we support.

Self assessment

SeeAbility holds annual regional events to gather feedback from the people we support, their relatives, commissioners, trustees and staff on how well we are meeting the standards set out in the Driving Up Quality Code. The information provided is then collated and published in our annual Self Assessment Report, which is used to drive and support local and organisational change.
