£62,916 raised by London Marathon runners for Team SeeAbility
We are thrilled to announce that our amazing runners at 2026’s London Marathon have raised over £62,000 for SeeAbility!
This year 22 runners took to the streets of London for what has become the largest marathon in history, with almost 60,000 people having taken part! Our runners each had their own story to tell and reason to strap on their running shoes, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.
‘It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but the most incredible’ shared Rhian, Senior Employment Coach at SeeAbility and one of our 22 runners. Like many who took on the challenge, this was her first time completing a marathon, and she wholeheartedly encourages 'anyone thinking of doing it to go for it.'
Despite temperatures which felt more at home in July than April, each of our runners proudly crossed the finish line and picked up their medals. Peter Culver, who also completed the marathon for SeeAbility, said:
'Because we were part of your team, for me it was one of the best things I have ever done in my life – seriously. I hope the money raised goes a long way to help everyone that you support.'
Sarah Walker, Public Fundraising Manager, said:
'I am so incredibly proud of our amazing team this year. To see 22 runners come together and raise nearly £63,000 is truly inspiring. The day was warmer than expected, creating an extra challenge for the runners, but their resilience and spirit carried them through to the finish. Knowing each of them crossed the finish line was such a humbling experience and proud moment – they should all be immensely proud of what they’ve accomplished.'

We are incredibly grateful to each of our runners for the commitment and determination they’ve shown in taking on the London Marathon – both on the streets of London and in the many months of training and fundraising leading up to the big day. Your support means that we can support more people than ever before with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss to live ambitious, fulfilled lives, overcome their own challenges and achieve things that once may have not felt possible.
