Hi, I’m Ruth. Feel free to share my tips with your family or friends – I've tried to keep them short and sweet!      

  1. It’s estimated you could save around 10% on your heating bill if you turn your thermostat down by just one degree!    
     
  2. Stick to supermarkets for food as opposed to convenience stores. The price difference will add up if you buy day-to-day necessities on a regular basis.    
     
  3. Make sure your tyre pressures are right and that cars are not carrying unnecessary heavy items. Your fuel will go further.    
     
  4. Only boil what water you need in a kettle.    
     
  5. Wash clothes at lower temperatures.    
     
  6. Draught excluders will help contain heat in a room.    
     
  7. Turn off appliances as opposed to putting them on standby.    
     
  8. Microwaves are by far the cheapest way to cook. Air fryers rank second. Traditional ovens are bottom of the list...
