Money-saving tips for the new year

- Stick to supermarkets for food as opposed to convenience stores. The price difference will add up if you buy day-to-day necessities on a regular basis.
- Make sure your tyre pressures are right and that cars are not carrying unnecessary heavy items. Your fuel will go further.
- Only boil what water you need in a kettle.
- Wash clothes at lower temperatures.
- Draught excluders will help contain heat in a room.
- Turn off appliances as opposed to putting them on standby.
- Microwaves are by far the cheapest way to cook. Air fryers rank second. Traditional ovens are bottom of the list...
