Specialist support and accommodation

Through our accommodation and support services, we provide highly specialist support for people who have learning disabilities or who are autistic, many of whom have sight loss. We believe in homes, not hospitals.

As an organisation we keep up to date with the latest research and evidence-based best practice, and the experts in our Clinical Assessment and Intervention Team (CAIT) are key to this. The Vision Rehabilitation Workers play a vital role and keep front and centre, SeeAbility's commitment to supporting those with visual impairments, as well as those with a diagnosis of learning disability or autism.

Our other clinical areas of expertise include Behaviour Consultants with at least a Masters degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

These clinical areas work together to assess each person's needs and develop their support using a Positive Behaviour Support framework. They focus on placing each person at the centre of their own care, empowering each individual to learn the skills that really matter to them, enabling them to live happy, contented lives.

This means each person we support gets exactly the right kind of expert attention they need, when they need it, so they can make more choices about what they want from life every day.

Our homes

We know that the best outcomes are achieved when we work closely with families. Families are involved in every step from recruiting the support team and finding the right accommodation, to attending planning and feedback meetings to ensure things are staying on track. We also have a family charter that sets out our commitment to working with you, and outlines your personal preferences for how you’d like to stay involved and stay in touch.

We are always delighted to show people around our homes and talk about what’s needed to ensure exciting and positive outcomes are achieved in the next stages of the life of someone we support.

All our services are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we are proud to have one of the highest compliance levels in the social care sector.

People have a right to live free from mistreatment, to be supported by caring, competent support teams and to feel secure in their homes and communities. Find out how we keep the people we support safe and who to contact if you have a concern.
