Saying 'Thank You' to our supporters at our summer parties As you know, this year is an extra special one for us – it’s our 220th birthday! As well as being a fantastic opportunity to bring together the people we support, family, friends, volunteers and SeeAbility staff, importantly, the celebrations also gave us the opportunity to invite some of our major donors and supporters and to thank them for all that they do. One of the biggest parties was at Leatherhead in Surrey, a historic location for SeeAbility, as it’s where the charity was located when we received Royal Patronage from King George V in 1911 and became The Royal School for the Blind. On a wonderful summer’s day families and friends joined together with sponsors of October's Morocco Trek - The Family Building Society – and several philanthropists who’ve been extremely supportive of our work over the years. As well as music and dancing, we heard a moving speech from Brian, who has been supported by SeeAbility for most of his life. He cut the cake and then gave a speech, covering the history and changes he’s seen at Leatherhead over the years. .
