Our Patron: HRH The Duchess of Gloucester GCVO

HRH Duchess of Gloucester receiving a posy from SeeAbility resident, Paul Button

SeeAbility is extremely proud to have had HRH The Duchess of Gloucester as our Patron, since 1996.

The Duchess (pictured above with Paul, a SeeAbility resident, at the opening of the extension at Fir Tree Lodge) has supported many events, including hosting an event for SeeAbility in the State Apartments at Kensington Palace in 2005.

The Duchess also attended the 10th Anniversary of Heather House and shared the following words with guests present:

Over the years I have been privileged to visit many of SeeAbility's excellent facilities and I had the pleasure of being present for the tenth anniversary of Heather House in Tadley. The dedication of the staff and the many volunteers, and of families of those benefitting from SeeAbility's support, is always paramount and so uplifting to experience.

More recently HRH has visited SeeAbility to support our Children in Focus sight testing project and opened an extension to our Fir Tree Lodge service in Tadley.

Our President: The Lord Coe CH KBE

SeeAbilitys President, Lord Seb Coe

SeeAbility is delighted to have had Lord Sebastian Coe as our President since 2013, having held the position of Vice President since 1997.

He first became involved with the charity by meeting and encouraging participants of the London Marathon who were running and fundraising for SeeAbility. Since then he has supported the charity in a variety of ways, most recently being filmed talking about the value of SeeAbility’s Children in Focus Campaign.

I am delighted to support SeeAbility’s work for people living with sight loss and multiple disabilities. My parents both lost their sight in later years so I am acutely aware of the impact this has on someone’s life.
