Life in lockdown has been challenging for everyone and we have been working with Waitrose & Partners to solve some of those challenges.

In the past weeks, Waitrose & Partners have donated over £1,000 worth of shopping direct to homes where we support people to ensure that those who need to shield during the pandemic can lower their risk of contracting COVID-19.

This incredible act of generosity saw deliveries of fresh food, essential supplies and even some treats arrive at homes in Aylesbury, Surbiton, Leatherhead, Horley, Eastleigh, Bristol, Wellington, Tadley and Aldershot. Our staff, who include support workers on the frontline, now want to express their thanks to local Waitrose branches who have ensured vulnerable customers are not forgotten about in the pandemic.

Deanne Weller, our Senior Vision Rehabilitation worker (pictured here), was even inspired to make this beautiful rainbow tribute, saying:

The blue heart is for the NHS, the green heart for Waitrose and the orange heart is for SeeAbility and our amazing colleagues. We’re clapping for you all tonight.

Christelle Howell, Partner at Waitrose Aylesbury said:

We are so happy we were able to support during these difficult times. Being able to help our community is what makes our jobs worthwhile and more than just "a job". We feel very honoured and proud to have been included in the beautiful rainbow.
