Lou Reid sang about a perfect day and that’s what we want you and the people we support to be having if you join us. As such, you’ll need to be an extraordinary individual with the ability to make each and every day extraordinary for the people we support!

SeeAbility encourages people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society. The people we support overcome huge barriers to achieve exciting new things every day: some big, some small, all extraordinary. They challenge us all to rethink disability.

At Heather House in Tadley, we provide nursing and personal support to inspiring people with life-limiting conditions and visual impairments. We have numerous facilities such as a hydro pool, an activity centre and a cookery and craft room. We also have a large multifunctional gym, music room and a large common area which we use for many things such as parties and get-togethers. The people we support are engaging and brave so working here is more than just a job and extremely rewarding.

As a senior support worker, you’ll support the manager and deputy and lead a team of support workers, acting as a role model, to facilitate the use of sound judgment that enables people to achieve goals and explore new opportunities. By championing person-centred planning and partnership working you’ll lead your team to provide excellent, person-centred support, which is both safe, maximises choice and control and identifies outcomes that improve the quality of everyday life. And your contribution and leadership skills will invaluable where support is not meeting expectations to promote skilful interactions.

You will have experience of working with people with a range of disabilities including physical and/or learning disabilities, autism and sight loss and be qualified at a minimum QCF level 2 in Care. You’ll need to be patient and calm under pressure as well as sociable, caring and supportive but above all, you’ll want to make a difference. You’ll seek new ways of working by thinking outside of the box and being creative with solutions and will take personal responsibility for the quality of care and support delivered to the people we support, striving to always do what is right by them.

So apart from transforming lives what’s in it for you? You’ll benefit from working with an exceptional team, an outstanding induction and training programme as well as on-going development. We also offer flexible working options, long service and recognition awards and company pension and life assurance schemes. And we don’t expect you to take your work home with you at the end of the day, in fact, it's illegal!
