The obvious choice would have been to run for one of the big cancer charities or indeed the MS society. However after a conversation with my sister-in-law, who does a lot of work for charity but doesn’t like to talk about it, she mentioned that these charities actually do get lots of money and it’s the smaller ones that struggle to be funded. Indeed, JK Rowling, whose mother suffered from MS, donated £10 million to their research.

That’s why I’ve chosen to run for SeeAbility. They provide care and support for people who are already suffering from one disability but then are then diagnosed with a sight condition on top of that. A cruel blow to be sure. However my time spent with SeeAbility has shown what adversity, bravery and jubilance people have in these difficult situations. It very much reminds me of the funny times we had with my Mum in the last years of her life.

A small donation would be greatly appreciated - many thanks!
