Our service

This supported living service in Bristol offers purpose-built accessible accommodation for adults with a range of disabilities. We specialise in supporting and assisting people with sight loss to live independently in their own homes.

Scott (pictured above) lives at Bristol Support Service and says:

I am very much involved in the service. I help with IT and am part of a panel that recruits new staff members. I am part of the Speak Easy User Group, and I feel that my views are always valued and taken into account.

We want to excel as a specialist provider of quality care and support, ensuring the people we support are at the heart of everything we do.

Our aim is to enable people to make choices and express their individuality. Personalisation is not a tick box exercise for us, but is fundamental to how we deliver our mission every single day of the year.

Our specialist support team work closely with the people we support, providing rehabilitation to people with sight loss to help them maintain and develop skills, and be more independent. We have speech and language therapists who support people with communication difficulties and the team also provides assistive technology and accessible information.

Supported living services are designed to meet daily living, social and personal care needs. These are arranged through a combination of one-to-one and shared support hours.

Our facilities and accommodation

The accommodation is offered as unfurnished and has been designed to enable easy access for people who have a visual impairment, making good use of colour and texture contrasts in decor, tactile information and lighting. The accommodation is fitted with a lift and is accessible to people who use a wheelchair.

As Landlord for the accommodation, SeeAbility offers occupants a secure housing right through an assured shorthold tenancy and our housing team provide a comprehensive service to repair and maintain the property.

The supported housing scheme at Henbury consists of 12 accessible self-contained flats over two floors.
