Bicester Support Service provides supported living services for adults who have learning disabilities and autism. Provision is currently offered for 11 people living within two supported living schemes (offering 7 self-contained properties and one shared four bedroomed house) in Bicester and Kennington. This service is specifically designed to support people with learning disabilities and autism to live and engage in their local community, as part of the ‘transforming care agenda’. We want to excel as a specialist provider of quality care and support, ensuring the people we support are at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to enable people to make choices and express their individuality. Personalisation is not a tick box exercise for us, but is fundamental to how we deliver our mission every single day of the year. This has earned the service an 'Excellent' rating from PAMMS, one of only five in the region to receive the top rating. Access to our specialist support team is available as an integral component of the support service. We offer direct support for individuals in order to develop life skills to the full. The support service includes Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners who offer: functional and environmental assessments; positive behaviour support planning, goal-setting and review; and analysis of behavioural challenges with guidance to minimise and manage these. Visual Impairment Rehabilitation which offers: functional vision assessments; training in mobility and orientation, communication and independent living skills; guidance about assistive technology and advice and awareness training to staff and other professionals. Speech & Language Therapy offering: eating and drinking (dysphagia) assessments and guidance, and support to develop communication skills. Supported living services are designed to meet daily living, social and personal care needs. These are arranged through a combination of one-to-one, two-to-one and shared support hours. . Our facilities and accommodation Bicester Support Service operates from a registered office in Bicester, providing support for 11 people in a supported living environment. Tenancies are available in 6 self-contained bungalows, one self-contained house and one shared house and all have access to a communal rooms and garden areas. These properties have been designed specifically to meet the needs of people with autism. .
