The Accessible Information Standard aims to make sure that disabled people have access to information that they understand and communication support they might need.

This includes making information available in easy read, which is helpful for many people with learning disabilities.

All organisations that provide NHS or adult social care must follow the Accessible Information Standard by law and in full by 31st July 2016.

The standard includes organisations that provide eye care services like opticians and hospital eye clinics.

SeeAbility has created lots of free, easy read resources. These will help eye care services to be compliant with the Accessible Information Standard.

Opticians and hospitals can use the resources to give to patients and everyone can access the materials themselves on this website.
