We're opening up to change this Christmas and you can be part of the movement.

We are delighted to announce that we are part of a unique advent calendar for Christmas 2019, which will appear in selected Waitrose stores across the country.

Last year the celebrity-endorsed social enterprise Advent of Change launched the first-of-its-kind Charity Advent Calendar. By the end of 2018, the movement had raised £100,000 for its 24 chosen charities, and even received an award from the Prime Minister in recognition of outstanding contribution to charitable causes.

Turning Christmas consumerism upside down

We are proud to join the Advent of Change movement as part of their 2019 Charity Advent Calendar. Each day of this alternative advent calendar represents a 50p donation and describes how that gift could be used, giving the recipient a ‘feel-good feeling’ when seeing exactly how they’ve helped - we're proud to be included this year. Can you find our door?

Each person who buys an Advent of Change calendar helps us to make a difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss.

Advent of Change Founder Kristina Salceanu said:

Advent of Change began with one simple idea: to give the gift of giving at Christmas. We aim to create the world’s kindest products, and are delighted to announce more products that will support more charities for 2019. We are extremely proud to be representing SeeAbility with our Charity Advent Calendar.

Open up to change this year

The Charity Advent Calendar is available to buy online via the Advent of Change website, plus Waitrose stores across the country. The calendar costs £16.95, with over 70% of the sale price of this product going directly to charity.

By supporting us through buying the Advent of Change calendar, you're helping someone with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss, like Sadick, Sebastian and Susie, to achieve something they never thought possible, thanks to specialist physio, vision and speech therapies:

£10 per month could pay for a programme of speech and language therapy sessions so someone can connect with family and friends. Watch Sadick's story below to see that your money can give someone a voice. Katlyne, one of our speech and language therapists has spent many years working with Sadick so that he can now communicate with his friends.

£25 could pay for a life-enhancing physiotherapy session to help someone like Sebastian build enough muscle strength to stand independently.

£100 could ensure that someone with serious sight loss benefits from the support of our specialist therapy team. Susie’s life was transformed after we supported her to get her cataract operation; she can now see the world around her and she is enjoying painting it!

Your generosity is helping each person to get exactly the right kind of transformative support they need, so that they can make more ambitious choices about what they want from life, and live more independently every day.

Thank you for your support.
