Edward Dijmarescu, our Head of Property Services, successfully made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for SeeAbility.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, and to get to the summit he had to battle his way through five ecosystems, from a tropical rainforest at the bottom to an icy plateau at the top. He had to pack for all weathers!

After a week long trek, he made it to the top of the mountain for a sunrise on the Thursday morning.

I managed to summit Mt Kilimanjaro (Uhuru Peak) on Thursday at 8.20am after a very hard ascent that we started at midnight. It was a truly amazing experience which was very demanding and a lot harder than expected.

It’s an incredible achievement, that’s raised over £3000 for SeeAbility! But there’s still time to donate on Edward's JustGiving page.

If you’re feeling inspired by Edward, there are loads of ways to get active for SeeAbility in the next year! To find out more take a look at our challenge events.
