About us Our people Dame Kate Barker (Ambassador) Dame Kate Barker accepted SeeAbility’s invitation to become an Ambassador in August 2015. "SeeAbility works in a specialist area and it meets the very specific needs of groups who otherwise could be neglected. It's a real joy to see how young people can be helped to realise their potential through better eyesight, it sounds so simple! I look forward to working to spread the word outside of the South East as SeeAbility becomes a truly national organisation." Kate is a business economist, a former member of the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, and now a holder of a number of non-executive posts.
