Heather House

Tadley, Hampshire

Heather House is a Registered Care Home (Nursing) with an Activity and Resource Centre (The Penney Centre) providing a person centred service for young adults aged 16-30 with a visual impairment, complex special needs and life limiting conditions, and offering support for their families and friends. Our aim is to provide a supportive and stimulating environment in which individuals are enabled to use their skills and abilities in order to maintain their quality of life.

We currently have vacancies for the following posts:

Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse Band 5/6 equivalent
Pay Band: £27,695 - £29,390 per annum (depending on experience) 
37.5 hours per week

Minimum of 18 months post registration experience required.

The Role: 

  • Assess, plan and deliver nursing care and support to young people who have Juvenile Battens Disease and other complex disabilities with life limiting conditions.
  • Using a person centred approach to support people who use the service with all aspects of daily living.
  • Supervising, supporting and acting as a mentor to junior staff.
  • Work within the multi disciplinary team structure.

The Person: 

  • Caring, empathetic and person centred with a desire to enable and motivate others.
  • Dynamic and self-motivated, possessing the skills and abilities to lead a team on a daily basis.
  • Good communication and I.T. skills.

Support Workers Day shifts full/part time posts and Bank Workers
Pay Band: £15,669 - £16,983 per annum pro rata (depending on experience) 

Applicants will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, promoting individual choice, autonomy and a person centred lifestyle. Have the ability to compile and maintain basic records, both written and computer based . Previous experience in working in the care sector and a relevant NVQ would be advantageous.
