Exeter Support Service, Exeter

  • Our service

The needs of each individual are fully assessed and person-centred support plans are created to meet these and help achieve aspirations. Support focuses on maximising people’s own abilities and teaching new skills to enable greater independence, and moving on in the future. Our experience shows that people enjoy doing more for themselves giving a real sense of personal achievement and offering them opportunities in the future.

These are uniquely owned and designed one bedroom flats offering individually tailored support for eight people with a visual impairment and additional disabilities including physical and/or learning disabilities. Managed by a local Housing Association, these flats offer opportunity to the individuals of home ownership within the Social Housing shared ownership scheme.

Highly trained staff teams work together with our Rehabilitation practitioners to ensure a consistent and enabling approach to maintaining and teaching skills. Many people use this service to further enhance their skills before moving on to living independently in the community.
