Sadick's first football match

My name is Sadick and I have recently been to watch my first ever football match.

One of the things that I enjoy is being with other people, and going to a football match was perfect for this. Being so close to the pitch from where I sat was great, but the best bit was being one of the crowd. I was able to cheer as loud as I wanted.

I always want to try new experiences and as I have never been to a football match before, Alister my support worker and I thought it would be fun to try. So we found out about a local match we could go to and we went to watch Fulham FC play at home.

Alister was able to book the tickets and tell the football club about my needs so they were able to make sure I was comfortable when I got there and this made a big difference.

The match was a really exciting one with lots of goals from Fulham, giving me lots of opportunities to cheer them on. In the end Fulham won 5 – 1. I was sitting so close to the pitch that I was able to see the players as they ran on and off adding to how much I enjoyed the day.

By the end I was tired but I was in good spirits, it was nice to get back home and see everyone I live with, who were asking me all about my day.

Doing this has given me lots of pleasure and I want to try going to other sporting events now, possible a motorsports event, or show. Somewhere I can hear the roar of the engine. I can’t wait!
