Frankie is 'Best Man' for the job

Hi, I’m Frankie, I’m 20 and live at Fir Tree Lodge in Tadley, Hampshire.

Recently I was delighted when I was asked to be the best man at my sister’s wedding. The ceremony was a long way away in Sheffield and due to my health issues, I could not travel in just one day. My support workers helped me to plan the whole trip and helped me make the most of what was a fabulous weekend.

I needed help from three support staff, who drove me to Sheffield in the adapted minibus. They planned the route so that we could stop half way and have a break and then found a special hotel that had fully adapted rooms to suit my needs. My room had wheelchair access, a moveable bed and a hoist so that I could be moved easily. 

On the day of the wedding my support staff respected that it was a private celebration and waited outside the church until we emerged to have our photographs taken..
