Chu Man learns to walk again

Hello, I am Chu Man

I have recently started to walk again after 10 years and I am really enjoying it.

I can’t see very well and have used a wheelchair for the last 10 years. When I came to live at Derby Lodge, the Rehabilitation staff did a full assessment on me and found that there was no physical reason why I had to use a wheelchair all the time.

I now walk with help from the support staff at the house where I live. At the moment it’s only short distances until my balance improves, but in time I am hoping that I can walk further.

Learning to walk again has meant that I now have more choice, and find that I want to take part in more things that are happening around the house.

Finding SeeAbility has changed my life for the better. I am looking forward to walking further on my own in the future.
