Free information and advice

Look Up is a web based information and advice service, focusing on eye care and vision for adults with learning disabilities. It provides information to them, their family carers, eye care professionals and health and social care staff.  

What’s on Look Up?

• A national register of optometrists to find a local opticians, providing key information about the optometry practice and the facilities available to people with learning disabilities
• Our You and Eye film. Made by people with learning disabilities for people with learning disabilities about getting their eyes tested
• An explanation of the most common eye conditions for people with learning disabilities
• Functional vision assessment pack, an observational tool that can be used to recognise how a person with learning disabilities might be using their sight
• Easy read factsheets with information on eye health and care for people with learning disabilities
• Factsheets and booklets with information on eye health and care, and how to support someone going for eye surgery
