About Me

SeeAbility are extremely proud of the support they offer people to help them to see their ability. Below are some of these success stories.

Carolyn Bolt
Hi, my name is Carolyn. I'm 21 and I live in Exeter and have been receiving support from SeeAbility for just 18 months. At first I liked to have a member of staff close by me at all times for reassurance, when I was in places that were unfamiliar to me.

But now my confidence has really soared because of the support I've been receiving. On one visit to Sidmouth, rather than needing to sit with my support worker, I walked down the beach collecting pebbles and shells, totally by myself. This may seem very normal for you but for me it was a great step. I'm so proud of what I have achieved with SeeAbility's help and I am loving life!

Its the little things that are so important...

I love doing crosswords and playing bingo! My name is Patricia I'm 51 and I live in a lovely house called Woodlands, in Horley where I have been for 2 years. I am very happy because SeeAbility has enabled me to continue playing my favourite crossword games despite that fact that I have a significant  sight impairment.

I had been trying to do crosswords on my CCTV screen but I just could not read the small print or put the letters in the tiny boxes. So Julie, my brilliant key-worker devised a large board that divided up into squares so that a crossword puzzle could be transferred onto it. I can now do my own crosswords, which makes me feel really happy!
