Become a Sight Pioneer
Sight Pioneers have the vision to support us.
Please join them.
The Pioneers are committed to helping those without sight.
Your support will enable us to provide our specialist services to more blind and visually impaired people with multiple disabilities.
Sight Pioneers give a minimum donation of £1,000 annually for three consecutive years. In return we offer an annual invitation to a dinner hosted by Sir John Major, our Sight Pioneer Patron, to highlight the achievements made by the people who benefit from your support. We will also give regular updates on how your gift is making an impact.
A message from our Sight Pioneer Patron - Sir John Major in National Eye Health Week 2011
"Those of us with sight are immensely fortunate: we should do all we can to help those without.
I was delighted to be asked to be the first Patron of SeeAbility’s Sight Pioneers. The Pioneers are a group of philanthropic individuals who share a concern for the wellbeing of blind and partially sighted people with additional disabilities in the UK. As a six year old, I was made acutely aware of how devastating it must be to lose your sight when my father lost his. I realised, even at that young age, that once blindness strikes, people start talking to you as if you don’t understand anything.
I have been enormously impressed by SeeAbility’s deep commitment and considerable expertise in working with people with a visual impairment and multiple disabilities. They are best placed to provide this essential support, enabling individuals to improve their independence.
But SeeAbility continues to need our help, especially during these tough economic times. I would therefore be delighted if you felt able to become a Sight Pioneer, and do hope that we can count on your support".
The Rt. Hon. Sir John Major, KG CH
