Physiotherapy team grows - thanks to support from trusts
Physiotherapy plays a vital role in the health and well being of young people at Heather House and Fir Tree Lodge in Tadley, Hampshire. Physiotherapy and hydrotherapy not only benefit physical development but have a positive effect on emotional well being, sensory stimulation, communication skills and self esteem.
Thanks to generous grants from The Peter Harrison Foundation, The Freemasons' Grand Charity, The Alex Roberts-Miller Foundation, The Dischma Trust and The Ulverscroft Foundation, SeeAbility was able to recruit two part-time Physiotherapy Assistants to support the full-time Physiotherapist, enabling us to offer more one to one and group physio and hydrotherapy sessions.
'It is clear that the physiotherapy team are doing a terrific job in helping the clients at Tadley achieve greater flexibility and pain free movement. Very worthwhile.'
John Ledlie, Director, Peter Harrison Foundation
'As Trustees of The Alex Roberts-Miller Foundation, we have seen the excellent care and range of therapies that SeeAbility has been providing, at Heather House, Fir Tree Lodge and the Penney Centre, for young people who are visually impaired and have other profound disabilities. We are very glad we have been able to support the continuation and expansion of this valuable work.'
Richard Roberts-Miller, Trustee
'The Freemasons' Grand Charity is committed to supporting people in need. SeeAbility enables the individuals it helps to achieve their full potential and we are delighted to be part-funding the work of its physiotherapy assistants who play a vital role in the emotional, physical and cognitive development of the young people with whom they work'.
