Outstanding Fundraising Success from Debut

Album

A debut album released by Dorset man Nigel Waite has raised an astounding £2600 for SeeAbility. The album, ‘Once in a While’ ,a collection of original songs written and performed by Nigel, was launched to critical acclaim and resounding success earlier this year. SeeAbility, formerly the Royal School for the Blind, specialises in supporting people with complex needs including vision loss.

Nigel’s choice of charity is a poignant one. His daughter Cara receives specialist support in one of SeeAbility’s residential homes. At just a year old Cara stopped breathing and despite attempts to resuscitate her, Cara was left profoundly disabled. SeeAbility’s highly skilled rehabilitative therapy has enabled Cara to have a quality of life which vastly exceeds her parents’ original expectations.

Although a highly regarded academic, Nigel returned to his first love of writing and performing music with a view to raising funds for SeeAbility. The album was Nigel way of giving something back to SeeAbility.

Jayne McGann, Fundraising and Marketing Director of SeeAbility comments, “We are enormously grateful to Nigel for this very generous donation and deeply touched that he has chosen to donate all the profits of his very accomplished album to SeeAbility. This is a significant sum which will go be used to support more blind and disabled people to help them develop essential life skills for greater quality of life.”
