MP Celebrates 10 years of SeeAbility’s Fiennes House

This morning (December 3rd) Jeremy Browne MP visited SeeAbility’s Fiennes House to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Fiennes House is a rehabilitative residential home in Wellington which provides individually tailored services for people with a visual impairment and multiple disabilities. The emphasis is on helping each individual maximise their independence through personal development and integration into the local community.

Also present were Mr Andrew Govier, Mayor of Wellington, Mr Colin Fletcher, SeeAbilty’s Regional Director of South West England.and Mr Justin Roxburgh, SeeAbility’s Development Director.

Mr Browne was introduced to residents, familiy members, staff and volunteers by Steve Mudway, SeeAbility Fiennes House Registered Manager, to learn more about the achievements of the residents over the last 10 years.

Mr Browne commented, “I have really enjoyed my visit to Fiennes House today. The openness and warmth of the residents and staff shines through and it is truly inspirational to see how the spirit and determination of the young people who here enables them to achieve so much.”

Steve Mudway said, “We were delighted that Mr Browne and Mr Govier were able to join us today to mark our 10th anniversary. I am proud to be part of a dedicated team who ensure that we are able to offer the best possible opportunities to the people who live here. We believe it is vitally important that the young people are able to fulfill their potential which means that we constantly focus on building confidence and independence through a range of activities. We also very fortunate to be part of a fantastic local community who have provided tremendous support.”
