Martin Thomas Appointed Manager of SeeAbility's Look Up Information ServiceMartin Thomas has been appointed Information Manager of SeeAbility's Look Up Information Service. The groundbreaking project was launched last year to help people with a learning disability access appropriate sight tests and eye healthcare. He was previously SeeAbility's eye 2 eye Project Team Manager. Thomas has over 25 years experience working with people with a visual impairment and additional disabilities and has an extensive knowledge of the diagnosis and management of sensory impairment in people with a learning disability. "I very much look forward to ensure the Look Up website is instrumental in ensuring people with a learning disability have equal access to high quality eye and hearing care services," says Thomas. "I will strive to ensure Look Up gains more content created by people with learning disabilities and their carers. I believe Look Up is on track to become acknowledged as the leading information resource for people with a learning disability to access appropriate sight and hearing tests." Thomas replaces Gill Levy who was with SeeAbility for two and a half years and has gone to People First. Thomas begins his role at the end of October. |
