Roux Brothers To Prepare SeeAbility eye 2 eye Charity DinnerCiti Private Bank is hosting a dinner on behalf of SeeAbility, formerly The Royal School for the Blind, on Thursday November 6th. The dinner will be taking place at Citi Private Bank's Executive Dining Rooms off Pall Mall and the meal will be prepared by the renowned Roux brothers. The speaker will be Jon Moulton, Managing Partner of Alchemy Partners and one of the founders of the modern private equity industry and an acknowledged whiz at spotting under-performing companies and turning them round to profit. He will be giving an insightful and amusing after-dinner speech focusing on the current financial woes of the UK entitled, "Why I am pleased not to be Gordon Brown." The main purpose of the dinner, however, is to learn more about SeeAbility's groundbreaking eye 2 eye Campaign which helps people with a learning disability access eye healthcare. There are 1.5 million people with a learning disability in the UK and a third of these will have a significant visual impairment but very few actually get regular sight tests and many lose their sight. SeeAbility's eye 2 eye Campaign is working with eye care professionals and health and social care staff to help people with a learning disability access specially-adapted sight tests and low-vision support. The evening hopes to raise awareness and financial support for the eye 2 eye Campaign so that SeeAbility can expand its pioneering work with people with a learning disability throughout the whole of the UK. |
