Early Christmas Present for SeeAbilityEmployees of the leading disability insurer, Unum, exceeded their target when they helped raise a staggering £41,000 for their chosen charity SeeAbility. The funds were raised by teams of runners taking part in Le Jo'G - Unum's annual sponsored relay run from John O'Groats to Land's End. Funds raised by Le Jo'G are going towards SeeAbility's ground-breaking eye 2 eye Campaign which helps people with a learning disability access sight tests and low vision support. SeeAbility launched the eye 2 eye Campaign after their research revealed that people with a learning disability are more likely to have a visual impairment than most people and yet less likely to have an eye test. Many lose their sight needlessly because they are unable to have a standard sight test. SeeAbility Chief Executive, David Scott-Ralphs, was presented with a cheque for £41,000 by Susan Ring, Unum's CEO to cheers from members of the Le Jo'G teams. |
