UNUM bring 'flower power' to Denecroft
The aim for the Dorking staff was to transform three areas of the garden: the long border, an old rockery and the bin storage area. After a welcome and introduction from centre manager, Sara Lock, the Unum team got down to work. There was a lot to do with a border full of tired shrubs to remove, a rockery to dismantle and a metric tonne of aggregate to shift. After a busy morning, the team took a welcome break and enjoyed their lunch in the sunshine on the patio. By mid afternoon, the main tasks were completed and it was time to put in the finishing touches. Six large terracotta pots were planted up and two wooden troughs made by Unum staff were filled with Daffodil bulbs. Then a quick clear up and the job was done. A great deal had been accomplished and the long border now looks neat and the gravel that was laid will be easy to maintain and weed free. One of the team, said afterwards "We really did have such a great day yesterday, so a big thank you to you and the rest of the team" |
