26 determined fundraisers took on a challenge of a lifetime by cycling from Leatherhead to Le Mans in just 24 hours on 7th to the 9th of September in aid of SeeAbility.

After a 65 mile ride through the English countryside to Portsmouth and a night ferry crossing to Caen, they were straight back on the saddle to race a further 105 gruelling miles to Le Mans - totalling 170 miles within 24 hours.  The cyclists included tandem-cyclists Jonathan Frost, 40 and John Dawson, also 40.

For John, cycling has become a new outlet for his energies since being registered blind following a road accident in 2001 and he would never have dreamt of riding a bike at any distance before his accident.

SeeAbility, the national charity for blind and visually impaired people with additional disabilities, anticipate that the weekend will raise £20,000 to fund its projects, including its residential and support services in Leatherhead.
