SeeAbility tenants go to concert for Diana

 Princess Diana and Chris

SeeAbility tenants were delighted to attend the highly publicised Concert for Diana at the new Wembley Stadium on Sunday 1st July, which would have been Princess Diana's 46th birthday.  They enjoyed performances from a variety of artists, including Sir Elton John and a medley of songs from composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.

SeeAbility's Spencer Court tenants Chris and Anne, who met Diana in 1995 when she was SeeAbility's then Patron, were interviewed by the BBC to share their recollections of meeting her. They spoke of her visit to their flats in Leatherhead, Surrey and how she learnt more about their achievements at SeeAbility.  Chris clearly remembers meeting the Princess and touching her face.  Their memories were shared with the concert's audience of 63,000 people on big screens and aired on BBC 1 as part of the concert's worldwide live coverage.

The concert was planned by Prince William and Prince Harry to mark the 10th anniversary of their mother's death and to celebrate her life.  Anne later said "the concert was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, one that I would not have missed!"
