SeeAbility are named as Dollond and Aitchison's 'Chosen Charity'

 D&A

Dollond & Aitchison have announced it will be supporting SeeAbility in 2007. From 1st April D&A branches across the UK will start their fundraising activities with the aim of exceeding the £100,000 pledged, as well as raising the charity's profile with consumers and the industry.

In 2006 D&A colleagues raised over £200,000 for their chosen charity and it is hoped that this will be emulated and exceeded in 2007 for SeeAbility. Funds will be go directly to SeeAbility's eye 2 eye Campaign, which aims to enable many more people in the UK living with a visual impairment and additional disabilities to access appropriate eye care.

D&A's Chief Executive, Andy Ferguson, comments: "D&A cares passionately about eye health and puts a lot of effort into fundraising activities which is fantastic to see. This year we are raising funds for SeeAbility, a very worthy cause and hope that we can make a difference to the people who need it most."

Jayne McGann, Fundraising and Marketing Director at SeeAbility, comments: "Having the support of D&A is a real boost for us. We believe that each person has the same human value and rights as anyone else and the right to services and community inclusion. Our specialist services promote an understanding of the needs of people who use them and are designed to encourage independence and enhance quality of life. There is no doubt that the funds D&A have pledged to raise will make a big difference to us and all the people we help. "
